Athens in Greece was the farthest point the Balkan trip Danny and I undertook in 2017. In Athens, the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum are must-see highlights.
When we say ‘Balkan trip’ it is in fact Eastern Europe and the Balkan. We started in Düsseldorf in Germany, took the Nightjet to Vienna in Austria and a connecting train to Budapest in Hungary. When then proceeded to Bucharest in Romania, Sofia in Bulgaria, Thessaloniki in Greece to reach Athens. Afterwards we flew to Podgorica in Montenegro, undertook an epic journey to Belgrade in Serbia and took a train to Zagreb in Croatia. After a train to Zürich in Switzerland we passed through Germany and headed home to Antwerp in Belgium.
Η Ακρόπολη
You just can’t visit Athen without climbing up the Acropolis. I highly recommend going as early as possible. After the Acropolis go to the Acropolis Museum for more artifacts and history.
A cute feature in the museum is the Lego Acropolis, on the same level as the terrace and restaurant.
Mixing fact and fiction, shaking up time and space, the Lego Acropolis brings up the child in you. But it’s so well thought and build.
Enjoy the pictures. And go see for yourself!
That’s an interesting way to illustrate a trip! 😁So you were somewhere near in 2017. I live in Montenegro.
