These reviews are somewhat facetious and don’t tell us very much. I’m not really sure why you were surprised to find museums containing locomotives from yesteryear “old fashioned”. Isn’t that the point? Or were you expecting lasers, holograms, virtual reality headsets and other gimmicks? The Madrid Railway Museum I visited last summer, housed in the former Delicias railway station, was a delight, precisely because it doesn’t do all those “interactive” gimmicks, but simply presents and explains. I’m not a train-spotting “anorak” type, but you shouldn’t assume we all have the attention span of gnats with ADHD.
