In the spring half-term (Krokusvakantie) of 2026, Belgian railway infrastructure manager Infrabel will refurbish the derelict Antwerp-Linkeroever (Left Bank) railway station. The station must be ready to receive passengers when Flemish tram and bus company De Lijn closes the tram tunnel beneath the Scheldt in May.

On Tuesday 12 March, Flanders launched FAAM, the Flanders All Around Museum. FAAM is a virtual museum, to be browsed on your browser or via the FAAM app. The acronym FAAM is also a word in Dutch, meaning ‘fame’ or notoriety.
Antwerp-South Railway Station and surroundings get makeover
The area around Antwerp-South Railway Station will be safer for pedestrians and cyclists, the City of Antwerp says in a press release. From the spring of 2024, the City of Antwerp will renew the pedestrian and cycle path along the Kolonel Silvertopstraat – Montignystraat axis up to Kielsevest, on the side of the station.
Plans for a steam train heritage service between Brussels and Mechelen shelved
