In May 2021 the new Téléphérique de Namur was inaugurated, linking downtown Namur – called La Corbeille (The Basket) with the Citadel of Namur. A perfect excuse for Danny and I to travel to the capital of the Province of Namur and of Wallonia.

I got myself a museumPASSmusées in January. After Coudenberg in Brussels, the Comics Art Museum also in Brussels and the Red Star Line Museum in Antwerp, I visited the Brussels Planetarium, with Thanh.
Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Antwerp finally to reopen on 25 September 2022
Just under a year. The Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Antwerp (RMFAA) or Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen (KMSKA) will reopen on 25September 2022. Eleven (!) years after it closed for renovations. In 2011.
REVIEW | Imperial Palace Hofburg Innsbruck
2020. Corona. Travelling is a different game. Yet our Fernweh acted up too often. So we arranged a train trip to Germany and Austria. Specifically to Leipzig in Saxony, several spots in Bavaria and returning home with ÖBB‘s Nightjet from Innsbruck in Tyrol to Brussels in Belgium.
Museum Plantin-Moretus will exhibit long-lost illustration by Rubens: ‘Opticorum Libri Sex’
Flanders has purchased a long-lost drawing by Peter Paul Rubens for an amount of 307,400 euros. The work will be included on the ‘Masterpieces List‘ and the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp will receive it on long-term loan.

May 2021. The Belgian government lifted the ban on leisure travel in April, but strict travel rules limited options. As the Balearic Islands – lles Balears or Islas Baleares – were a yellow zone, we booked flights to and a hotel in Palma de Mallorca.

When Thanh and I planned an outing to Brussels for the Senne Park, the Pannenhuis Park also known as L28 Park and the Maritime Station, the weather forecast announced snow (!), then rain but in the end the weather gods were clement and it was dry and sometime sunny. The date was 11 April 2021.
