2020 Saxony, Bavaria and Tyrol Getaway

2020. Corona. Travelling is a different game. Yet our Fernweh acted up too often. So we arranged a train trip to Germany and Austria. Specifically to Leipzig in Saxony, several spots in Bavaria and returning home with ÖBB‘s Nightjet from Innsbruck in Tyrol to Brussels in Belgium.

Planning this 2020 Saxony, Bavaria and Tyrol Getaway was a bit stressful. Could we leave, could we proceed? In September 2020, there was no COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Only colour codes, travel requirements, registrations and many kinds of tracking. Face masks covering mouth and nose, obviously.

We encountered many different coronavirus countermeasures, attitudes towards the pandemic and attitudes towards the countermeasures.

It was therefor and odd trip. But we did it, we enjoyed it.

Here are all the posts relating to this trip.
