2020. Corona. Travelling is a different game. Yet our Fernweh acted up too often. So we arranged a train trip to Germany and Austria. Specifically to Leipzig in Saxony, several spots in Bavaria and returning home with ÖBB‘s Nightjet from Innsbruck in Tyrol to Brussels in Belgium.
After Neuschwanstein and the Museum of Bavarian Kings in Schwangau we returned to Füssen by bus. Füssen is the rail gateway to the rest of Bavaria.
Füssen is quaint and was crowded the day we were there. It feels like a cocktail of a ski station and a cultural village.
Originally we planned to stay there overnight but plans got changed not due to corona but due to Neuschwanstein being so much in demand. We wouldn’t have been bored out for a night.
