When Frank, Steve, Philippe, Nicolas, and I meet up, it’s usually in Antwerp. But Nicolas being a Brussels resident, it was time for the rest of us to go to the capital of Belgium. That’s what we did on 29 November 2025, the opening weekend of Winter Wonders, the Brussels-Capital Region‘s Christmas Market.

European Sleeper adds dining car to Brussels – Amsterdam – Berlin – Prague night train
In an email to its followers and customers European Sleeper announced it will add a dining car to its Brussels – Antwerp – Amsterdam – Berlin – Prague night train from 1 September to 1 November 2024. Dining cars on night trains are rare in Europe as journeys are relatively short.

July 2021. A week after my Eindhoven escapade featuring the DAF Museum and a night at Hotel Mariënhage, I travelled to Utrecht for a culinary weekend with Steve. At that time, the Netherlands were very liberal concerning coronavirus countermeasures. That was both concerning and liberating at the time.
