CHARLEROI PRIDE | Three days of inclusivity and festivities

Today, tomorrow and Saturday Charleroi in the province of Hainaut hosts the Fête de l’Amour, the Festival of Love, aka Charleroi Pride or Pride Carolo. It’s the fifth edition of the Festival of Love and the third edition with a pride parade on Saturday. 

Liège Pride 2024 programme and introduction

The city of Liège in the province of Liège will host its first fully-fledged pride weekend on 23, 24 and 25 August 2024. The Liège Pride website has now been launched, with more information and a programme. The organisers expect 5,000 participants.

MONS | Auguste Rodin exhibition at Beaux-Arts Mons / CAP museum

Until 18 August 2024, the Beaux-Arts Mons museum or Museum of Fine Arts of Mons is hosting an exhibition on French sculptor François Auguste René Rodin. The exhibition brings together famous and lesser-known work by the artist. Thanh and I visited in May. 

Slow(er) train from Brussels to Paris for 2024 Summer Olympics

For the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, Belgium‘s national passenger train operator NMBS / SNCB is planning a so-called classic train link between Brussels and the capital of France. It will be cheaper than the high-speed line, but also a lot slower.

Belgium European champion for rail tourism

Previously, we shared the Eurostat statistics regarding intra-European Union travel in 2021. One notable statistic is the means of transport. Belgium is – or at least was in 2021 – champion at rail tourism.

Legoland Belgium in Gosselies, Charleroi by 2027

Belgium is set to host the fourth Legoland amusement park in Europe. In 2027, the town of Gosselies near Charleroi in the province of Hainaut in Wallonia. The site used to host the Caterpillar machinery factory. The Walloon Government foresees 1,000 new jobs.
