Swedish rail operator SJ AB has announced a night train service from Sweden‘s capital Stockholm to Hansestadt Hamburg in Germany from 2022. At least for now there will not be a nigh train service from Malmö to Brussels.
Entrepreneurs Louis-Philippe Lammertyn and Louis De Jaeger from Belgium have started Moonlight Express, a company which will offer night train services between Brussels, Liège and Berlin. They keep in mind Eurostar connections so travellers can go easily from London to Berlin.
Back in a pre-corona 2012 I got inspired by my friend Erik to make an epic rail trip through a part of Europe. I persuaded my best friend to tag along and together we decided to head north, to Scandinavia, to a part of Europe we both hadn’t visited yet and where fascinated about.
As reported by Swedish news website The Local the Swedish government would like to start more night trains connecting the country with the rest of Europe as an enviromentally friendly alternative to flying.
