REVIEW | Swiss Business Lounge Zurich E-gates

Early 2020 AD. Timothy and I embark on a 21st century Odyssey. On the Majestic Princess from Sydney to New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji. Back to Sydney, then to Melbourne and flying back home.

After being dropped off at the remote arrivals area of Zurich Airport Terminal A after our inbound flight from Paris we made our way through the terminal and the connecting train towards the midfield Terminal E from where our connecting flight to Bangkok would depart from.

The automatic shuttle train is actually a cable operated one, reminiscent of Swiss mountain railways. During the short ride a lot of stereotypical Swiss sounds and music is played to immerse you in the Swiss experience.

As we had a smooth transfer experience we still had some time to enjoy in the nice lounge in pier E. It is located in the top floor of the building and can be reached by stairs or elevator.

The main area has a number of different seating options.

The bar area has plenty of drinks and there even is a live cooking area making some food to order. There are also some other food options scattered throughout the lounge.

In the middle of the lounge there was also a display for the Swiss shopping options.

For people wishing to relax there was a relax area offering some relaxing chairs to take a nap.

As the lounge is located on the top floor you get some very nice views over the runway and taxiways around the building thanks to top to bottom glass walls. Even from the toilet you get a magnificent outside view.

One of the main attractions of the lounge however is the open air viewing terrace, offering you a chance to breathe in some fresh Swiss air. For the spotters amongst us there are also offered some binoculars.

All in all the Swiss lounge in terminal E has a pretty design and nice food and beverage options and looks like a place where you could easily spend some time if you needed to because of a long connection.

Have you ever been in the Swiss Business Class lounge in Terminal E? How did you experience it? Let us know in the comments below!
