Switzerland wins Eurovision Song Contest 2020

… according to a poll in Belgium.

Switzerland‘s entry ‘Répondez-moi‘ by Gjon Muharrema, better known als Gjon’s Tears, wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2020… according to a poll in Belgium.

ESC specialist Jens Geerts of OUTtv conducted a poll in Belgium to know who’d win the cancelled Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam.

Geerts is surprised. “‘Répondez-moi’ is the only song sung completely in French. This shows Belgians love a good chanson.”

Switzerland won the ESC twice. On 1956 with ‘Refrain‘ by Lys Assia and in 1988 with ‘Ne partez pas sans moi‘ by Céline Dion. Don’t remind her.

Germany, Cyprus and Iceland scored well in the Belgian poll. The Netherlands, usually popular in Belgium, does not score well. And Belgian song ‘Release Me’ by Hooverphonic isn’t popular in Belgium either.

Eurovision is also way less popular in France 🇫🇷 than in Belgium 🇧🇪. And in Belgium 🇧🇪 it’s more popular in Flanders than in Wallonia.
