After the first edition of Queer Arts Festival Leuven in November 2023, the university city is now getting a fully-fledged Leuven Pride, organised by UniQue – Vlaams-Brabants Regenbooghuis (Flemish Brabant Rainbow House) and Queer Leuven. On 10 October 2024, there will be a parade at 7 PM
“Leuven is gearing up for a historic moment: the Leuven Pride on 10 October 2024”, UniQue says on Facebook. “Rainbow house UniQue is proud to announce the launch of the very first official Leuven Pride. Although Leuven has previously hosted events such as the L-Pride in 2018 and the opening of the Queer Arts Festival Leuven in 2023, UniQue and Queer Leuven are now joining forces to create this first official edition.”

What can you expect?
“A pride parade, Leuven style. No big floats, but a march that goes back to the roots of pride. Bicycles are allowed.”
“After this we will inaugurate the new monument with a street party and then we will descend to the Optimist. The Optimist’s Auction Room will also host a drag show and dance party.
Looking for stories
“We are looking for stories about encounters in Leuven or with a link to the city. Are you lesbian, gay, bi, trans, drag, queer, non-binary or something else? Would you like to have your story immortalized in this monument? Let us know using this form: https://forms.gle/KDxhNATux2eppdtp7.”
