Limburg Pride is preparing for its 2025 edition – on Sunday 13 July – with a strong emphasis on mental health, connection and resilience within the LGBTQIA+ community. The event, which aims to be a safe and welcoming space for all, will celebrate pride, love and visibility in the heart of Hasselt.
This year’s pride carries the theme ‘Love Yourself, Embrace the Journey‘, reflecting the ongoing struggles faced by many within the community, from discrimination and prejudice to isolation. The organisers say this highlights the need for additional care, support and understanding.
Pride Village & Pride Festival
Limburg Pride will transform the capital of the province of Limburg into a bustling meeting place, with its Pride Village and Pride Festival at the Kolonel Dusartplein.
The Pride Village is designed to be a large, accessible and inclusive space where everyone feels at home — a place for people to connect, learn and celebrate together. Stalls will provide information from organisations and initiatives focusing on mental health and wellbeing, alongside food trucks, a cocktail bar and a range of regional products.
One of the unique aspects of the Pride Village is the opportunity for free, anonymous and low-threshold conversations with therapists or psychologists in the Campus Oude Gevangenis, allowing individuals to talk openly, without obligation, in a safe space.
Organisations can still apply for a stall in the Pride Village, putting their messages and initiatives in the spotlight in front of a large and diverse crowd.
The Pride Festival will bring a riot of energy, performance and celebration to the main square in Hasselt, with a rich programme of artists, DJs and performers. The event aims to unite both young and old, queer and ally, in a collective expression of pride. The stage will be made as accessible as possible, featuring a designated area for less mobile spectators and a sign language interpreter.
The day’s programme will be presented by two enthusiastic hosts, who will guide the crowd through each performance, announcement and spontaneous moment, adding their own warmth and humour to the celebration.
Artists and DJs will keep the atmosphere alive with a mixture of musical genres, energetic sets and heartfelt routines, reflecting the rich diversity of the community. From high-energy tunes to powerful messages, each performance is set to contribute to a unique and emotionally significant event.
The complete festival programme is now online and promises a riotous blend of glitter, happiness and togetherness — a chance for everyone to celebrate Pride in their own way.
Pride Parade
The Pride Parade will bring the city’s small ring road alive with colour, visibility and solidarity. The march is a moment for the community to come together, take up space and make their voices heard — turning the streets of Hasselt into a powerful expression of pride, unity and connection.
