BELGIUM | Rollout of The Rolling Tables dinner train experience delayed

Danny is doomed. This morning he saw his booking for the 2 August 2025 ride on The Rolling Tables, a dinner train experience in Belgium and the Netherlands, was refunded without explanation. He mailed the customer service and tonight he received an answer.

“We regret to inform you that the The Rolling Tables journey for which you made a reservation cannot take place. In the meantime, we have already refunded the amount you paid to us; you don’t have to take any action on your behalf to receive the refund. The refund has probably already been added to your account, or will be so in the upcoming days, depending on your bank and payment provider (like iDeal, Bancontact or PayPal) which you used upon making your reservation. As soon as a new date is known we will inform you accordingly.”

As we speak (write), the 2 August Sint-Niklaas (Saint-Nicolas, St. Nicholas) ride is still mentioned on the website. But you can’t book it. The 1 August Ghent-Saint-Peter’s ride hás been taken offline but a 8 July post on Instagram still mentions it.

Ghent and Sint-Niklaas announced.

So the issue at hand must be recent.

Temporary setback?

While it’s a big disappointment – the ride was Danny’s birthday present to his parents – at least he was refunded proactively and informedUnlike the Dinner Train fiasco in 2024. That was also Sint-Niklaas related.

So, for now, this looks more like a temporary setback than a definitive failure. Is the issue rolling stock? Funding? We don’t know.

We’ll have to keep an eye on their social media.

UPDATE | 15.08.2025

This morning we discovered that The Rolling Tables’ social media channels have disappeared. RIP?
