On Sunday 13 July 2025, Limburg Pride vzw, the organising committee, held its first Limburg Pride in Hasselt. A date for next year has been chosen: Sunday 12 July 2026. The host city or commune has yet to be chosen.
10,000 to 17,000 people attended the Limburg Pride this year. It was the first time for the Belgian province of Limburg. The slogan was ‘Love Yourself, Embrace the Journey‘ and the theme was mental health.
As none of us were present, it’s hard to say in if the slogan and theme were palpable or not and in what way.
2026
A date for next year has been announced, though: Sunday 12 July. So it seems Limburg Pride is choosing a fixed place on the calendar.
When Limburg Pride was announced in 2024, the idea was to have different host cities or municipalities. So after Hasselt, which is the provincial capital of Limburg and its largest city, will the pride be held elsewhere?
Genk perhaps? Or Tongeren (Tongres)? Maaseik? Sint-Truiden (Saint-Trond)? We have to wait and see.
