CORONAVIRUS | Baarle-Hertog and Baarle-Nassau struggle with two systems

In times of measures against coronavirus COVID-19, Baarle-Hertog and Baarle-Nassau struggle with coping with two strategies.

Baarle-Hertog and Baarle-Nassau are two municipalities intertwined with eachother. Baarle-Hertog is part of the Kingdom of Belgium. Baarle-Nassau is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

As rules are different in those countries – Belgium is more strict in the fight against the virus – inhabitants juggle the rules.

Two Baarles

Unsurprisingly, the two towns are a popular subject for videos.

I wanted to go there with Oriol this Spring… so fingers crossed.
