After my train trip all the way from Antwerp to Toulouse, I had quite a late arrival in the Crowne Plaza Toulouse. Luckily the hotel is located smack-bang in the middle of the city centre, right next to the Capitole, and only a short metro trip away from the station. Upon arrival the very friendly guy behind the reception desk welcomed me and swiftly gave me my room keys so I could drop my stuff and relax after the long journey.
As I am a Platinum member of the IHG Rewards club, I received a complimentary upgrade to a club room on the 4th floor, overlooking the main square. It was a very spacious room with 2 double beds, a relaxing seat in the corner by the window and a desk to work on by the wall. Of course it came equipped with an interactive TV screen mounted on the wall, complimentary water bottles and the usual tea and coffee making facilities.
The breakfast was located in the main restaurant, reached by some nice looking stairs opening up in the light flooded space. It was a typical buffet offering with some eggs, bacon and sausages at the warm side as well as some cold cuts and of course some different types of cheeses (we are in France after all). Overall it was quite a nice spread for a French breakfast.
As I was upgraded to a club room, I also enjoyed access to the Club Lounge located on the 5th floor. It wasn’t the biggest lounge there is and the way it was arranged made it look more like a conference room. But in the evening there were some very nice wines on offer as well as a number of snacks and finger sandwiches to snack on.
