Oriol and I started Thursday in Barcelona with a visit of Torre Bellesguard. The medieval villa (torre in Catalan is villa, not ‘tower’) was renovated and redesigned by Antoni Gaudí.

Bellesguard, also known as Casa Figueres, is located at the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. The ground on which Bellesguard stands had been the site of a country residence belonging to Martin, king of Aragon and count of Barcelona.

The visit

Count roughly an hour. There’s a clear audioguide with precise instructions. You’ll get extensive explanations. Well worth the detour from the beaten track.
