The 2024-2025 edition of Winter in Antwerp or Winter in Antwerpen starts on Friday 6 December 2024. Saint Nicholas’ Day or Sinterklaas. The Christmas Market will close on Sunday 5 January 2025. 

The City of Antwerp promises “cozy lights, pleasant walks and warm moments throughout the city”.

Winter in Antwerp starts this year on Friday 6 December 2024 with fun animations and extra activities. The New Year’s Drink will take place on Sunday 5 January 2025. 

On that day, the city will treat Antwerp residents to a bag of tokens with which they can buy a snack and a drink at the Christmas Market. To mark in your calendar or to avoid at all cost. Crowds behave badly when things are free. 

What can you expect?

In addition to the Christmas Market, the ice rink with winter bar and the JOE Xmas House will also be there again. “The traditional Christmas trees, nativity scene and a richly decorated city centre are also not to be missed.” 

On Sunday 31 December 2024, it will of course also be time for the end-of-year fireworks.
