Bruges in West Flanders is having a pride, Bruges Pride. Apparently it’s the second edition. This event is organised by Bruges Pride Parade, Vrijplaats Brugge, BruLes, BruGay and the students of Queeropeans at the College of Europe (Collège d’Europe).
Bruges Pride 2025 will take place on Saturday 14 June, bringing a vibrant celebration of diversity, equality and community to the heart of the city. The event will begin at 3 PM, with a parade starting at Garenmarkt 15 and making its way through the historic centre.
Participants will arrive around 4:30 PM at Q Bar, located on Beenhouwersstraat, where the festivities will continue with a lively street party.
This year’s Pride is a collaboration between several local and student organisations. Queeropeans, the LGBTQIA+ society of the College of Europe, is working closely with Brugay and BruLes—longstanding queer associations based in Bruges—as well as Vrijplaats Brugge, the city’s community centre for queer, feminist and activist groups.
Q Bar and Vrijplaats Brugge
Q Bar, located inside Vrijplaats Brugge, will be at the heart of the post-parade celebration.
Q Bar is a welcoming queer café and safer space that regularly hosts events and offers an inclusive environment for the local community. It is open Wednesday to Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM, and on Thursdays until midnight.
The bar serves a range of drinks, including regional beers such as La Chouffe and Brugse Zot, as well as soft drinks, mocktails, coffee and tea. Run by volunteers, it is supported by the city’s diversity department and other local partners.
Pride in Bruges offers a space for visibility, connection and solidarity. Beyond the parade, it is a moment to meet others, to celebrate freedom and to affirm the presence of LGBTQIA+ people in the city.
Vrijplaats Brugge is home to many active groups, including CGSO West-Vlaanderen, Gendercontact, and Polyamory Belgium, all of which contribute to a growing and supportive queer network in the region.
Everyone is welcome to join: locals, students, families, tourists and allies. Whether walking in the parade, dancing in the street, or simply sharing a drink at Q Bar, participants will be part of a city-wide statement for inclusion.
