PinX 2026 from Tuesday 27 January to Sunday 1 February

The next edition of LGBTQIA+ film festival PinX will be held from from Tuesday 27 January to Sunday 1 February 2026. Ghent founder Sphinx is very happy with the 2025 edition. 500 extra visitors came to see a queer film there. There’s no reason to assume Cinema Cartoon’s in Antwerp will not participate again. 

Cartoon’s jumped on board in 2025 and the theatre was full. I went to see ‘The Summer With Carmen‘. 

“There was cutting and pasting. Love notes were left behind, there were quizzes, there was art, there was a party. There were intros and discussions afterwards”, Sphinx says in a newsletter. 

“There were young people and old people. Everyone went to the movies together. Hands were held. At least one person shed a tear (maybe more, but it was dark, so we can’t be sure). There is a route to the lesbian farm. Are there cowboys there? (yes)” 

“‘Wicked‘ was not on our programme, but the queer reading was there anyway! There were beautiful and interesting guests. People who wanted to see two films in a row were waited for. Opinions were sometimes divided. There was discussion. And we will continue to do so. Before we know it, there will be a new programme.”

Pinx 2026 will thus be held from from Tuesday 27 January to Sunday 1 February. Yes, this means an extra day.
