Autumn 2025. We – Sam and Danny, Michel and Wille, and Timothy – are travelling to Japan for a quite classic tour of the Land of the Rising Sun. We are flying separately as we used miles. On the planning: Tokyo, Kanazawa, Shirakawa, Osaka, and Expo 2025, Hiroshima, Himeji, Miyajima, Kyoto, Nara, Nagoya, Hakone, and back to Tokyo. Three weeks plus some extra days.

We arrived inbound from Brussels near the garden, at a jetway gate and would also be leaving from a different jetway gate in the same area. Thus we opted to visit the Al Mourjan the Garden Business Lounge as it was the closest for our 3-hour layover in between both flights.

This lounge is the newest Qatar Airways business class lounge in the Doha Airport, and is also very large. Despite its size it was very hard to find a free seat as this was peak time at Doha Airport.

First Sam went on a discovery tour for the smoking lounge, so he could poison his lungs a bit more. After that we joined the queue for the shower rooms, after about a 30 minutes wait it was our turn.  The Garden lounge’s shower cubicles doesn’t feature a toilet but just a sink and a walk-in rainforest shower. We were provided with towels and Diptique products to have a very refreshing shower.

After the shower we had some drinks and a walk before heading to our gate for the onbound flight to Tokyo.
