The Belgian Pride presents Q.ARTz, a brand new queer arts festival in Brussels

From 18 to 26 September 18 to 26, the new multidisciplinary arts festival Q.ARTz in Brussels puts LGBTQI+ artists in the spotlight. With accessible exhibitions, workshops and performances, the festival aims to support culture, diversity and the local economy. 

What to expect from Antwerp Pride 2021’s Pride Village on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 August?

No pride parade for Antwerp Pride for the second year in a row, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the Pride Village at Operaplein offers a – hopefully – covid safe alternative. 

What to expect from Antwerp Pride 2021 amidst coronavirus countermeasures?

No parade for Antwerp Pride 2021. The ‘Empire of Freedom’ – or ‘Rijk der Vrijheid‘ in Dutch – comes a little too late, says the organising committee. But there are several main events. Bars and restaurants also plan their pride events. 

Antwerp Queer Arts Festival 2021 programme and schedule

Antwerp Pride Queer Arts Festival returns this summer, from 7 to 15 and to 29 August, in Antwerp. The programme includes concerts, performances, film screenings and exhibitions.

Antwerp Pride 2021 plans Pride Village on 14 and 15 August at Operaplein

As in 2020, there will be no pride parade for Antwerp Pride in 2021. Even if COVID-19 statistics are getting lower and thus better at the moment, holding a pride parade is just not realistic. 

Antwerp Queer Arts Festival 2021 from 7 to 15 and to 29 August

Antwerp Queer Arts Festival (AQAF) has announced dates for the 2021 edition. The festival will start on Saturday the 7th of August and end on Sunday the 29th. With the emphasis on on the first week: 7 to 15 of August.

Belgium has taken new coronavirus countermeasures. The hardest hit Province of Antwerp took even stricter countermeasures with a curfew. The City of Antwerp – actually the Arrondissement of Antwerp* – even more so, cancelling all events. Obviously it affects the Antwerp Queer Arts Festival (AQAF) and Antwerp Pride.
