August 2025. We’re travelling to the Baltic States: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and more specifically their respective capitals Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. Are they interconnected by rail? Yes, but not in the most straightforward or userfriendly way possible. The Rail Baltica project should remedy this. Unsurprisingly though, this megaproject faces political and budgetary hurdles. It will most likely not be ready by 2030. But that doesn’t stop us. What to expect from the Baltics? Is it affected by overtourism? 

We had to time to go the lounge at Vilnius Airport, so we did.

The lounge’s design seamlessly integrates functionality with style, providing ample seating options that accommodate both solo travellers and small groups. The use of natural materials and thoughtful lighting further enhances the inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal space to unwind or prepare for upcoming engagements.

The Narbutas Business Lounge offers a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable experience. 

Guests can enjoy a selection of cold snacks, including sandwiches, salads, and desserts, complemented by a variety of beverages such as soft drinks, coffee, wine, and spirits. For those needing to attend to work, the lounge provides access to Wi-Fi, computer workstations, and printing and copying services. 

Additionally, a private call booth is available for confidential conversations or virtual meetings, catering to the needs of business travellers.

Narbutas?

A distinctive feature of the lounge is its partnership with Narbutas, a Lithuanian-based international office furniture manufacturer. This collaboration brings a curated selection of Narbutas products into the lounge setting, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the company’s commitment to quality and design. 

Notable pieces on display include the ‘Motion‘ executive desk, known for its ergonomic design and adjustable height functionality, and the ‘North Cape‘ executive chair. These elements not only enhance the lounge’s functionality but also showcase Narbutas’s dedication to creating inspiring workspaces.

Narbutas, established in Lithuania, has expanded its reach globally, specialising in the design and manufacture of office furniture that meets the demands of modern work environments. 

The company’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of products, including desks, chairs, acoustic solutions, and lounge furniture, all crafted with an emphasis on innovation and quality. A visit

The lounge is small and sober, but has everything you need. Salads and sadwiches are on display as in an office neighbourhood lunch store – think Gregg‘s, Exki, Prêt-à-Manger or something like that. I guess that’s efficient.
