After literally years of planning, we travelled to Australia to visit Sydney, to cruise to the Pacific Ocean territories of New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji and to hop over to Melbourne. The year was 2020 and it was just before the pandemic.
We all realise by now that the aviation industry is in it’s biggest crisis ever. One year ago airlines were growing, buying new planes and launching new destinations. The only challenge was finding enough qualified staff to fly those planes. Today looks very different. No one can predict the future, but let’s take a look…
Early 2020 AD. Timothy and I embark on a 21st century Odyssey. On the Majestic Princess from Sydney to New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji. Back to Sydney, then to Melbourne and flying back home.
We travelled to some pretty awesome destinations, stayed at extraordinary hotels, travelled along most scenic routes and experienced some pretty amazing activities, museums or other things to do. Here’s the best of 2019.
During our mileage run to Istanbul we still flew to the old Istanbul Ataturk Airport, slowly but surely all flights are or will be transferred to the new Istanbul Airport.

Coming home from Taiwan, I flew with Turkish Airlines from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Istanbul Atatürk Airport on TK25 and then on TK1671 to Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN). So, how was it?
