In November Scott, Danny and I undertook a Sunday day-trip to Luxembourg. We badly wanted to test the modernised I6m coaches. And Scott had never been to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

My sister lives in Zug, a town in central Switzerland. With low taxes, it attracts companies to have an head office there. With 30,000 inhabitants and 22km2, Zug isn’t big. Without visiting the museums, you can see the sights in less than two hours. Yet, it’s less dull than it sounds.
The Netherlands to introduce a flight tax
There we go. The Dutch government wants to introduce a flight tax of 7 euros per plane ticket, regardless of the destination or the ticket price. It’s no surprise.
Antwerp to Zug by train
My sister lives in Zug, which means ‘train’ in German. So obviously, as a train enthusiast I took the train to Zug. Mit dem Zug nach Zug.
The final stretch, a Lyrical return home
After a wonderful 17 days of travelling across 4 different countries in a whole bunch of different trains, it was time to board my last 3 trains and return home.

For my final night of my 2018 rail adventure I was staying at the InterContinental Genève, as all hotels in the Geneva area where pretty expensive I used my points for this stay.
