REVIEW | SAS Gold Lounge Stockholm Arlanda Airport

In the month of April I made a week-long trip with Michel, discovering German aviation history in Friedrichshafen, Danish railways history in Odense and navigating the sea to discover some Estonian history in Tallinn.

Unfortunately our trip across Germany and Scandinavia came to an end and it was time to fly back home. This time SAS offered the best flight options and we elected to fly them back home from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Brussels.

As I was leeching on Michel’s Star Alliance Gold Status I was able to access the SAS Gold Lounge along with him. The SAS Gold Lounge is located next door to the SAS Business lounge which I accessed last time when I transited through Arlanda from Los Angeles back to Brussels with Timothy on our way back from our American Rail Adventure.

Contrary to the Business Lounge, the Gold Lounge has some very beautiful apron views, from both sides of the lounge. There were different types of seating divided by partitions to create slightly cosier spaces throughout the lounge. There were also plenty of power plugs available to charge your devices.

The food area had some high top tables and a diverse food and drinks offer.

There where salads, meats, fish and cheese on the cold offering along with some different types of bread. On the hot side you had some soup and chicken skewers. There obviously where soft drinks, coffee and tea on offer as well as some wines, beers and a selection of stronger alcohols (which you do not have in the business lounge).

If you wish you can make use of a shower room, which has to be demanded at the reception desk. As we had showered in the morning on the ferry inbound from Tallinn we obviously had no need to do so.

The SAS Gold Lounge is a level above the SAS Business Lounge but both are good places to spend some time before your flight leaves. They have comfortable seating, WiFi and a good selection of food and drinks on offer.

Have you ever visited a SAS lounge? How did you rate it? Let us know in the comments below!
