Ban on leisure travel prolonged until 1 April 2021

Belgium forbids non-essential travel, i.e. leisure travel or tourism abroad. This coronavirus countermeasure is prolonged until 1 April 2021. The Government fears ski fans will import new variants of the virus.

The current rules and countermeasures are elaborated in the updated Ministerial Order of 28 October 2020

That MB stipulates the current rules stay in place until 1 April.

The Government is wary of new mutations of COVID-19 such as the so-called British variant or B.1.1.7, the so-called South African variant or 501.V2 or B.1.351. There’s also the newly named Bristol variant which contains the E484K mutation also found in the South African and the Brazilian variant.
