The 18th edition (since 2008) of Antwerp Pride takes place from Wednesday 6 to Sunday 10 August 2025. This year’s theme is “Do not just march! Listen. Understand. Commit”. Prides are a mix of celebration – parties – and activism and advocacy. For the 2025 edition, the organising committee focuses on belonging. Belonging to the society at large – the ‘outside world’ – but also belonging within the rainbow realm.
On Thursday 7 August, Theater Het Klokhuis in Antwerp will host the Pride Comedy Show, a stand-up comedy evening with a colourful twist. This special event, promises an unforgettable night of humour, surprises, and inclusivity, with comedians from across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum taking to the stage.
The line-up features a mix of seasoned performers and rising talents from both Belgium and the Netherlands. Audiences can look forward to performances by Xander Peeters, Marlies Verschueren, Kathleen Peters, Frank Westerink, Davey Jay Geernaert, and Laurien Vereecken.
This indicates the show will be in Dutch.
Each comedian brings their own unique voice and perspective, offering a rich variety of comedy styles and stories.
“What sets the Pride Comedy Show apart is its commitment to creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone. The show invites both LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to come together for an evening that celebrates authenticity, diversity, and connection through laughter. Rather than shying away from honest or unconventional topics, the comedians share personal stories and fresh takes on everyday life, all with a good dose of humour”, the organiser says.
More than just a comedy night, the event is a celebration of what makes people unique. It is an invitation to laugh, to connect, and to embrace the joy that comes from shared experiences, no matter one’s background or identity.
Tickets for the Pride Comedy Show are limited, and those interested are encouraged to book tickets early to avoid disappointment.
