Antwerp museums are open on public holiday 1 November

On Saturday 1 November, All Saints’ Day, Antwerp’s museums and heritage institutions will be open, while most other city services will remain closed.

Up-to-date opening hours for all city services can be found on their respective pages at http://www.antwerpen.be. It is recommended to check in advance whether a service is open or operating with adjusted hours. For further information, residents can call the city’s contact centre on weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM. at 03 22 11 333. The contact centre will be closed on Saturday 1 November.

All city museums and heritage institutions will welcome visitors on 1 November. Several exhibitions can be explored that day. At the Museum At the Stream (MAS), visitors can enjoy the new exhibition ‘Universal Tongue‘, which showcases dance styles from around the world. 

The Red Star Line Museum hosts ‘Goeie Reis‘, an interactive exhibition for children aged one and older about journeys and departures. 

At the Museum Plantin-Moretus, the exhibition ‘Women’s business/ Business women‘ tells the stories of often invisible women who played key roles in the historic printing house. 

While the Museum Mayer van den Bergh is closed for renovation, the Maagdenhuis presents ‘Public’s favourites‘, an exhibition featuring favourite artworks chosen by museum visitors. 

Fashion museum ModeMuseum (MoMu) offers ‘Girls‘, which explores what it means to be a girl through fashion and imagery. The city’s libraries, however, will be closed on 1 November.

The Visit Antwerpen visitor centre and the Antwerp City Shop in Het Steen will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM, and the Antwerp City Shop at Central Station will open from 9 AM to 5 PM.

City and regional service desks will be closed on Saturday 1 November, as will all municipal swimming pools, sports halls, and recycling parks.
