BELGIAN GRAND PRIX | Spa-Francorchamps replaces Uniroyal Tower with Uhoda Tower

On Thursday 6 November 2025, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes unveiled its new tower project, now officially named the Uhoda Tower. It replaces the Uniroyal Tower

“The new structure reflects the Circuit’s ongoing commitment to growth, designed to meet the evolving needs of fans, promoters, teams, visitors, and motorsport enthusiasts, while reinforcing its historic roots and expanding its capacity”, the Spa-Francorchamps website notes.

“Taller and more spacious than its predecessor, the Uhoda Tower represents a seamless evolution, a gateway to a new era that is modern, forward-looking, and ambitious.”

Uhoda

The Uhoda Tower is the result of close collaboration between the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and the Uhoda Group

“This partnership unites shared values of passion, innovation, and hospitality—principles at the heart of the circuit’s identity.”

The naming rights were entrusted to Uhoda, a Belgian family-owned company active in mobility and local services, culture, events, and real estate.

“Uhoda is a network of shops, service stations, car washes, parking lots, and convenience stores, accessible throughout Belgium. We are creating the service station of tomorrow. We offer our unique selection of quality products. Discover our wide and carefully curated, distinctive and accessible, and constantly evolving range”, Uhoda’s website states.

The upper floors of the tower will host business tourism and events, managed in partnership with Folks, the Circuit’s official events agency, overseeing year-round programming and operations.

The ground and first floors will welcome Virtex, a professional-grade simulation center. Their presence strengthens the circuit’s role as a hub for learning, performance, and technological innovation in service of drivers.

 A landmark for the future

Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Uhoda Group. This project reflects the circuit’s ability to reinvent itself while staying true to its identity. Working with Uhoda, Virtex, and all involved partners demonstrates our shared commitment to shaping Spa-Francorchamps’ future. This new tower will be a place to live, work, and connect at the intersection of sport, technology, and events. It will embody the excellence and ambition that make Spa-Francorchamps renowned worldwide.”

Stephan Uhoda, CEO of the Uhoda Group: “The Uhoda Group has always maintained a deep connection with mobility, cars, nature, environment, and the emotions they inspire. Partnering in the development of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, in a winning Wallonia, was a natural choice. Together with our events agency, Folks, we turn this passion into unique experiences, blending performance, hospitality, and excellence. The Uhoda Tower is the ultimate expression of that vision.”

Julien Gillard, CEO of Virtex: “By soon moving into our new headquarters at the heart of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, we are taking another step forward in Virtex’s growth. Our two floors in the new Uhoda Tower will reinforce the Circuit’s ambition to become a true hub for technological preparation and innovation. Thanks to our F1-derived simulators and the in-house creation of digital twins of the cars, we help drivers and teams optimize their performance and accelerate their development before they even set wheel to track. We look forward to expanding our activities within this iconic new building.”

A milestone in the circuit’s history

The launch of the Uhoda Tower construction marks an emotional milestone: bidding farewell to an iconic building while giving rise to a new, more modern, functional, and future-ready structure.

Lacomble Architecture – Point B-ar, project architects: “Driven by the passion for racing, the architects transformed the circuit’s aspirations into a conceptual reflection.”

Construction is underway, with the official inauguration scheduled for June 2026.

Belgian Grand Prix in 2026, 2027, 2029 and 2031

Formula 1, the organisation, confirmed in January that it had reached a multi-year agreement with the Belgian Grand Prix, ensuring that the sport will continue to race at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in four of the next six seasons. The new deal secures the Belgian round for the 2026, 2027, 2029 and 2031 campaigns.

The announcement followed several years of substantial investment in the Walloon circuit, including the construction of two new grandstands that increased spectator capacity by 10,000 seats, along with upgrades to off-track facilities and the overall fan experience. These improvements have strengthened Spa’s position as one of the most popular and enduring venues on the Formula 1 calendar.

The circuit is revered by fans and drivers alike for its fast, flowing layout, combining long straights with demanding corners such as the legendary Eau Rouge and Raidillon sequence leading onto the Kemmel Straight. During the 2024 race weekend, Spa welcomed 380,000 spectators, who witnessed Lewis Hamilton take his second victory of the season – and his fifth at the Belgian Grand Prix – in an action-packed event.

Built in 1921, Spa-Francorchamps was among the seven circuits to host Formula 1’s inaugural World Championship season in 1950. Since then, it has staged 57 Grands Prix and remains the longest track on the calendar at 7.004 km.

It has been the site of many historic wins by the sport’s greatest drivers, from Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Niki Lauda to Sebastian Vettel. Among today’s generation, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen have all stood atop the Spa podium.

Marking Formula 1’s 75th anniversary year, President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said that it was fitting for one of the championship’s founding races to be part of the sport’s long-term future.

He described Spa-Francorchamps as “one of the finest racetracks in the world”, praising the efforts of the circuit promoter and the Government of Wallonia for their commitment and investment in improving facilities and the fan experience.

The 2025 Belgian Grand Prix took place from 25 to 27 July and featured the return of the F1 Sprint format, promising fans three days of high-intensity racing and entertainment.

Pierre-Yves Jeholet (MR), Vice President of the Walloon Government and Minister of the Economy, welcomed the renewed contract as a major boost for the region, calling the Belgian Grand Prix “a must-attend event for Wallonia“.

He emphasised the circuit’s international significance and the economic impact the event brings to both Wallonia and Belgium.

Spa Grand Prix President Melchior Wathelet and then-CEO Vanessa Maes expressed pride in the renewal, describing it as the result of years of cooperation, infrastructure improvements, and record attendance figures. They credited the Walloon Government and the fans for making the extension possible and reaffirmed their commitment to the continued development of what they called “the most beautiful circuit in the world”.
