REVIEW | Carlsberg Aviator Lounge at Copenhagen Airport

Easter 2025. I’m visiting my uncle and aunt in Leland, North Carolina. It’s my first trip of two to the United States in 2025. I haven’t seen them live since February 2020 just before the first lockdown and I haven’t travelled to this area since 2019. I’m flying with SAS and Delta. The itinerary: Brussels in BelgiumCopenhagen in DenmarkAtlanta in GeorgiaWilmington in North Carolina.

Connected to my American Express plan, is the Priority Pass. This gives me access to airport lounges across the globe. At Copenhagen Airport, Carlsberg Aviator Lounge is one of the options.

You will find the Carlsberg Aviator Lounge after security, between gates A and B, above O’Learys Bar & Restaurant.

“The Carlsberg Aviator Lounge is for travellers who appreciate good taste. Enjoy a delicious selection of Nordic tapas – accompanied, of course, by ‘probably the best beer in the world’ with three different kinds on tap.”

All passengers can purchase access at the entrance to the lounge, regardless of their flight ticket.

If you are traveling with the following companies or ticket types, you have access to the lounge without additional payment: Priority Pass, Eurocard, Aegean, Air Greenland, Atlantic Airways, Bravo Tours, Brussels Airlines, Iceland Air, and TAP Air Portugal.

There may be limited seating in the lounge during certain periods. Access to the lounge costs 219 DKK (including facilities, food, and drinks).

Facilities

At the entrance to the lounge, there is an elevator for wheelchair users, strollers, and prams. The lounge area also offers free Wi-Fi, charging stations, printing facilities, and toilets.

Food and drinks

The lounge offers a buffet with cold dishes such as Nordic tapas, and the menu varies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Wine and three different Carlsberg draft beers are also available. The buffet also includes lactose-free and gluten-free options, and you can always ask the staff for more information.

A visit

The Carlsberg Aviator Lounge is not very large. Dominated by wood colours, there is a buffet area, some high tables and seats. The lounge was crowded.

The buffet is okay, but no warm options and no sweet options besides a couple of pastries.

The water dispenser worked and also didn’t work with an iPad. What’s wrong with a more conventional tap?

There is no separate WiFi. No, you connect to the standard airport WiFi. Which, must be said, works really well for an airport WiFi.

So?

I feel unofficial, privateer, third-party (whatever you want to call them) lounges tend to be inferior to official, ‘factory’ lounges run by airlines in their home airport(s). The Carlsberg Aviator Lounge is no exception.

But it still beats just waiting in the terminal.
