Brussels Airlines premieres a new onboard safety video created in collaboration with internationally acclaimed Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Blending cinematic storytelling with essential safety instructions, the film spices one of air travel’s most familiar moments with humor and visual flair.
While the video delivers all mandatory safety information, it does so through a narrative approach designed to capture everyone’s attention from the very first frame. Passengers are drawn into a fast-paced heist-inspired universe where every instruction becomes part of the mission.
Known for their energetic directing style and distinctive visual language, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah took inspiration from iconic films such as ‘Ocean’s Eleven‘ and ‘Mission: Impossible‘, the video follows a tightly coordinated squad preparing an elaborate plan. Their objective is simple: ensuring every passenger reaches their destination safely. Signature animation elements, dynamic pacing and moments of humor give the film its unmistakable Adil & Bilall touch.
The cast features Belgian talents including world-famous DJ Dimitri Vegas alongside Claude Musungayi and Cyra Gwynith, each embodying recognizable archetypes from classic heist films while reinforcing the collective spirit behind onboard safety.
Isaac Gozin, a Belgian film director and creative designer, designed a film poster to accompany the launch of the new safety video.
“This safety video is an homage to a popular Hollywood-genre. The cartoon-style animations that are integrated are a nod to the rich Belgian comic-book heritage and are part of our signature style. We’re also happy to present this safety instructions with a cast as diverse as the traveling public. We hope passengers appreciate this fresh form of storytelling”, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, directors of ‘Safety Heist’, say in the press release.
“Brussels Airlines connects Belgium with the world, but we also want to be an ambassador to showcase the best of Belgium to the world. We do this through all touchpoints: from our Belgian Icon-airplanes to the menus on board or the safety video: we’re proud ambassadors of Belgian cultures around the world, Michel Moriaux, Head of Product and Marketing at Brussels Airlines, says.
The new safety video will roll out across the Brussels Airlines long-haul fleet from 1 July.
