CORONAVIRUS | Face masks mandatory on the streets in Antwerp

Starting Wednesday 29 July, you must wear a face mask or other face covering (covering mouth and nose) when you go outside in Antwerp. On the street, in parks, when cycling…

Mayor Bart De Wever (N-VA) explains. “The argument is not virological or even psychological. People fondle too much with their mask. And they feel too safe and don’t keep distance. The argument is enforcement. Wear a mask. Period.”

“This is not a lockdown or a lock-in. You can come to Antwerp.”

The coronavirus countermeasures are expected to last four weeks.

More on the curfew and other measures.
