On the site of the Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond, Virginia you can visit the American Civil War Museum at Historic Tredegar.

The museum is located next to Richmond National Battlefield Park. It’s actually on the same site. But the ACWM s private.

Inside the main exhibition focusses on the war itself and avoids political choices. There’s no consensus on how to commemorate the American Civil War (1861-1865). In many respects it’s he first modern war, with the first machine guns, the first submarine and war photography making a debut.

So therefor the museum is worth a visit. It will help you understand present-day divisions in America.

Money

A nice extra is the exhibition upstairs about the US dollar, which was born during the Civil War.
