Being upgraded for my Brussels Airlines flight SN502, I got acces to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport‘s Terminal 1.
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is located just after the TSA security checkpoint, on your left. You can’t miss it. After having checked in with the attendant, numerous lounging options await you.
The lounge features
- magazines and newspapers;
- a television area;
- a buffet;
- an eating area;
- many seats;
- booth-type seats with a table;
- restrooms.
I installed myself at a booth-type seat with a table, combining best of both worlds. A comfortable seat with a table. Perfect to eat and afterwards to use the table for my laptop.
There are plenty of power outlets.
The buffet
The buffet has warm and cold dishes, including soups, pasta, meat, fish, salads, sandwiches rice, vegetables, desserts, cheese and bread.
For drinks there are numerous soft drinks, wines and liquors, coffee and tea and juices. You can also have pretzels and M&Ms.
German efficiency and American courtesy
The LH Senator Lounge is very German: efficient, comfortable, but maybe unimaginative. That’s fine.
At one point one of the attendants came with freshly baked vanilla and chocolate muffins. Very thoughtful.
All in all I was very happy with the Lounge. I stayed there for four hours and could eat and write blog entries.
