#GOT: Game of Tourism in Dubrovnik, Croatia

After Florence and Venice, Steve and I embarked on our East Mediterranean cruise on board MSC Sinfonia. The cruise took us from Venice in Italy to Split in Croatia, Santorini in Greece, Dubrovnik, Ancona and back to Venice. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to Mykonos.

The skipping of Mykonos was caused by choppy sea near the island, and a tender ferry service couldn’t be organised.

So the next stop was Dubrovnik. Even before ‘Game of Thrones‘ Dubrovnik was a popular destination. We expected excessive crowds.

After a long walk to the medieval city centre, we did see big crowds, but once passed the entry point Pile Gate and the Placa Stradun, crowds were okay.

Maybe because of the scorching heat and blatant sun, there weren’t that many people on the ramparts. Also, access isn’t cheap.

Stil, Steve and I were impressed and happy to walked on them. After a nice lunch we walked back to our ship in search of shade and cooling down.
