CORONAVIRUS | Open (air) markets including food markets shut down

BelgiumCoatOfArms

As a measure against the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, Belgium shuts down open (air) markets. Including food markets.

Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès announced drastic measures during a press conference on Tuesday 17 March.

  • All shops and stores who do not sell food must close.
  • Bars and restaurants must remove their terraces.
  • Bars and restaurants remain closed.
  • You are allowed to leave your homo for groceries, to go to work, for sports outdoors (but alone or plus one).

Bottom line is: there’s no reason to travel to Belgium at this point.

Oh dear! Okay I’ll leave it. In Flemish we say: “waar het hart van vol is”
      (“what fills the heart”) hahaha!

Yes, we don’t need to fill in a form to get out. Maybe that is the next step in Belgium. Stay safe!
