The Belgian Pride 2020 in Brussels will take place on Saturday the 29th of August. Its 23rd of May date was unsustainable due to coronavirus COVID-19.
“We experience in Belgium a situation which we haven’t had in a long time and which we we won’t have to endure ever again”, comments The Belgian Pride organisation.
“The Belgian Pride Festival attracts over 100,000 visitors each year to Brussels. This must be done in safe and healthy circumstances. Organising a pride asks a lot of effort from everyone so we decided to postpone Belgian Pride 2020 to 29 August.”
This decision was made together with Arc-en-Ciel Wallonie, çavaria, RainbowHouse Brussels and the City of Brussels.
Health
It was decided well before the corona crisis the 2020 edition would have physical and mental health as a theme.
“We now fully focus on on reorganising the pride.”
The Belgian Pride involves over eighty groups and organisations. All involved will be notified shortly.
