The city state of Berlin in Germany forbids all major events with 5,000 participants until 24 October due to the coronavirus COVID-19 virus.
InnoTrans 2020 will be postponed, likely to the spring on 2021. The train and rail trade fair already announced scrapping its Public Days. But that decision appears not to be connected to the pandemic.
According to Railway Gazette, InnoTrans 2018 had attracted 3,062 exhibitors from 61 countries, and 153,421 trade visitors from 149 countries. That’s slightly over 5,000.
InnoTrans says: “We have taken note of the decree of the Berlin Senate dated 21 April 2020 regarding the ban on events with more than 5,000 persons until 24 October 2020. We are already finalizing an alternative event date and will announce it at the beginning of May at the latest.”
