Brussels Airlines, Beobank and Mastercard launch credit cards with exclusive benefits

Brussels Airlines, Beobank and Mastercard announced on 21 March 2025 the launch of three new co-branded credit cards in collaboration with Miles & More. “Accompanied by an attractive loyalty program, these cards have been specially designed for travellers looking for flexibility and exclusive benefits”, the press release says.

As of today, three new Beobank Brussels Airlines credit cards are available. They have been designed for different traveller profiles and allow cardholders to earn Miles through everyday purchases made with the card. These cards are the result of a strategic partnership announced in 2024 between Beobank, Brussels Airlines and Mastercard, in collaboration with Miles & More.

Three credit cards, three levels of benefits

The shared goal of this partnership is to provide added value to customers by offering a flexible payment solution that is accepted worldwide, while combining this with an interesting loyalty program and an insurance package allowing for more secure shopping and more seamless travel.

In concrete terms, thanks to the extensive global acceptance network of these cards, every eligible purchase made with one of the three Beobank Brussels Airlines Mastercard credit cards, whether for everyday transactions or travel-related transactions, allows the cardholder to quickly accumulate Miles.

In order to better accommodate the diverse needs of travellers, three separate cards are available:

  • Beobank Brussels Airlines Explore Mastercard: Perfect for travellers seeking new and accessible experiences, this credit card allows users to accumulate up to 25,000 Miles per year and includes a package of five insurance covers as well as exclusive Mastercard benefits.
  • Beobank Brussels Airlines Horizon Mastercard: Designed for more frequent travellers looking for diverse and unique experiences, this credit card offers benefits tailored to discovering the world, enabling users to accumulate up to 50,000 Miles per year, and includes a package of eight insurance covers as well as exclusive Mastercard benefits.
  • Beobank Brussels Airlines Altitude Mastercard: Aimed at frequent travellers seeking ultimate comfort, exclusivity, and refinement, this credit card allows users to accumulate up to 100,000 Miles per year and includes a package of eleven premium insurance covers as well as exclusive benefits from both Brussels Airlines and Mastercard benefits.

A card for every traveller

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in travel, combined with the desire for a certain level of comfort and security. This launch perfectly illustrates Brussels Airlines’ commitment to enriching the overall experience of its travellers and meeting their expectations.

“Each traveler is unique and has different needs. Brussels Airlines is committed to offering a smooth and enriching travel experience to all its passengers. Thanks to the new credit cards, our customers will have the opportunity to enjoy unique benefits before, during, and after their journey, making each trip even more comfortable and rewarding. This includes exclusive Brussels Airlines privileges, such as lounge-access and the advantages of our Miles & More program for airline tickets, upgrades, shopping, or exclusive experiences”, Dorothea von Boxberg, Chief Executive Officer of Brussels Airlines, says.

The same ambition is shared by Beobank, whose mission as a bank is to make its customers’ daily lives easier with innovative and personalised financial solutions.

“Beobank has always been a pioneer in the credit card market in Belgium, offering not only competitive and distinctive products, but also a complete range of flexible and high-value payment solutions. More than just payment tools, these new credit cards will meet certain expectations and support the customer in their daily transactions, whether they are travelling or not. Every euro spent with the card allows customers to accumulate Miles. The insurance package has also been designed to enhance the overall customer experience, combining both travel-related and purchase protection insurance”, Guy Schellinck, Chief Executive Officer of Beobank, says.

Mastercard, as a network partner, also enriches the cardholder experience, particularly through its extensive global acceptance network and the various Mastercard benefits.

“With the new Beobank Brussels Airlines Mastercard cards, traveling with true peace of mind becomes a reality. Accepted worldwide, they allow you to securely book your flight online, reserve a hotel or make purchases in stores. In addition to this payment flexibility, cardholders will enjoy exclusive Mastercard advantages, such as access to the airport fast lane, cashback from selected merchants, access to our Priceless.com experience platform, exclusive Live Nation pre-sales, and parcel return fee protection. Soon, they will also be able to take advantage of MilesPay, a service that allows them to convert their Miles into euros for everyday purchases”, Benjamin Dessy, Country Manager, Mastercard Belgium & Luxembourg, says.

An evolving offer

In order to also meet the needs of professional customers, a fourth deferred debit card will be launched later this year as part of this collaboration: the Beobank Brussels Airlines Navigator Mastercard. More information on this card will follow in the coming months.

Our take

Collaborations come and go. We both used the previous co-branded credit card, with American Express. We both saved up our airmiles and are redeeming them this year.

When the deal between AmEx and Brussels Airlines, we waited it out, but then opted to continue to use AmEx and their own programme. Why? You can use their points with several airline loyalty programmes.

We’re puzzled by the capping of possible miles savings per year. So, at least for now, we’re not applying.

Changing landscape

Loyalty programmes tend to change. And at the moment, many do, not only Miles & More.

A world in turmoil or not, people travel a lot, so previous perks and possibilities to redeem airmiles / points / whatever they’re called are being limited.

Later in the year, we have a big trip planned to Japan and we booked these flights on airmiles. It was very hard to find these ‘free’ seats, as availability is made scarce.

So it’s up to you to decide if you want to try a loyalty progamme such as Miles & More. Honestly, just give it a go. But then use that credit card as often as possible, keep an eye on changes to the offering and be smart.
