CORONAVIRUS | Antwerp Pride plans to go ahead on 5-9 August 2020

At this point, Antwerp Pride is still looking at taking place on 5 tot 9 August 2020. Coronavirus COVID-19 or not, firm preparations are still far away.

Virologists are preparing us psychologically for a year-long ban on big events. That is obvious when reading interviews and predictions with health and epidemic experts. Social distancing is quite impossible at a mass event.

“At this point, we assume the pride will take place”, says chairman Bart Abeel in Winq Magazine. “Expenses in this phase are limited. But we monitor developments. It all depends how seen this situation ends.

Antwerp Pride is looking at what Tomorrowland in Boom does. This techno festival takes place on 17-19 and 24-26 July. Or not.

“We sincerely hope Antwerp Pride will go ahead as planned.”
