#NotJustWords: Antwerp Pride 2021 tackles hurtful language, plans open air events

Antwerp Pride 2021 will take place from 11 to 15 August. This year’s theme is #NotJustWords. The organisation wants to tackle hurtful language. From outside and from within the rainbow. 

In a video, Antwerp Pride announces physical events. An Opening Night in the open air. A new Pride Village as a meeting point. A place for presentations, performances, workshops, meetings etcetera. 

There will also be a new ‘Trail of Stories‘ with new stories. The public is expected to give input. Human Rights Friday will focus on this year’s theme. 

There will be no pride parade, but retail, catering and other businesses will put Antwerp in rainbow colours.
