Model railway enthusiasts can take a miniature journey this summer as Train World in Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek in Brussels hosts a temporary exhibition dedicated to model trains. From 18 to 30 August, the museum and Media & Rail will bring together model railway layouts and miniature trains in an exhibition aimed at both children and adults.

Visitors will be able to explore a variety of model railway layouts and discover the world of miniature railways. The exhibition, held during the final two weeks of August, will be accompanied by additional activities at weekends.

Families can build their own diorama

On 22 and 23 August, Train World will host a family workshop where children and their parents or carers can build their own diorama. Participants will learn how to create different landscape elements and gradually construct their own miniature scene.

Model railway traders at the museum

The final weekend, 29 and 30 August, will focus on model railway shopping, with several specialist traders setting up stands at Train World.

They include Treinshop Olaerts, Rocky Rail, Train Service Danckaert, Märklin, Roco, HST Verhaegen, Chez Dominique, LS Models, Minima Forma, and Media & Rail. Visitors will be able to browse model trains, accessories and other items for their own layouts.

The Miniature Trains Exhibition runs from 18 to 30 August 2026 at Train World in Schaerbeek.
