Spoorpark to link Zurenborg and Borgerhout in Antwerp

City of Antwerp‘s real estate agency AG Vespa has bought the tram shed situated at Draakplaats in the Zurenborg neighbourhood of Antwerp from bus and tram company De Lijn.

The shed was built in 1890 and will become part of the Spoorpark project. This Rail Park must make the area between Zurenborg and Borgerhout near the disused Antwerp-East Railway Station (Station Antwerpen-Oost) more green and more attractive.

The shed, designed by Aloïs Scheepers, includes a service residence and measures 3675 m².

More on the shed and more on Spoorpark, in Dutch.
