Munich’s Olympiapark

2020. Corona. Travelling is a different game. Yet our Fernweh acted up too often. So we arranged a train trip to Germany and Austria. Specifically to Leipzig in Saxony, several spots in Bavaria and returning home with ÖBB‘s Nightjet from Innsbruck in Tyrol to Brussels in Belgium.

We stayed four nights in Munich. After the BMW Museum and BMW Welt we had a quick walk in the Olympic Park, Olympiapark in German.

The area of Olympiapark was redevelopped for the 1972 Olympic Games. Obviously it had updates since.

Danny and I are good at visiting sporting areas when nothing is on, but Olympiapark was not as empty as Sydney Olympic Park or University of British Columbia‘s empty campus grounds in Vancouver in the weekend. Although in Canada there were hot students coming and going from and to the aquatics centre.

Munich’s Olympiapark seems a nice area to spend as a local to jog or do other sports. But it was a grey day and we’re not sporty.
