In an email to its followers and customers European Sleeper announced it will add a dining car to its Brussels – Antwerp – Amsterdam – Berlin – Prague night train from 1 September to 1 November 2024. Dining cars on night trains are rare in Europe as journeys are relatively short.
The dining car aims at enhancing the passenger experience. If successful and well received, the dining car could become a permanent fixture.
Crowdfunding
“European Sleeper is organised as a cooperative. In May 2021 and within 15 minutes, European Sleeper raised €500,000 in seed capital, by selling shares to more than 350 small investors from various countries in Europe and beyond – an enthusiastic night train community, that is actively involved in the company. In 2022, we again were fully funded in our sharefunding for sleeping cars and raised €2 million”, European Sleeper says.
The dining car was made possible by raiding 1 million euros. A next project is enhancing the livery of the train. At the moment, European Sleeper is a hotchpotch of different coaches.
55,000
Since May 2023, European Sleeper had welcomed 55,000 passengers in 260 train rides.
Future
Nowadays, European Sleeper serves Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Czechia. In the future, in wants to go to Paris in France and Barcelona in Spain.
