Antwerp Queer Arts Festival (AQAF) has released its 2024 programme and schedule. The festival last almost a full month.
AQAF runs more or less parallel with Antwerp Pride. Although both are intertwined, they are different festivals with different organisations and different people at the helm.

Exhibition ‘Hunter Claes, Lize Maekelberg & Vural Saglam’
“You could already meet Hunter Claes, Lize Maekelberg and Vural Saglam at previous editions of AQAF, in our residency program for young creators. Now we are continuing that story, with a very diverse group exhibition. Curious about this year’s young queer artists? Come to A Night Called Quest on 30 and 31 August.”
Saturday 3, Sunday 4, Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 August from 2 to 6P at Dingen Die Niet Verkopen, Oude Beurs 62.
Film: ‘Love Lies Bleeding’
“From Director Rose Glass comes an electric new love story. Reclusive gym manager Lou falls hard for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Las Vegas in pursuit of her dream. But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.
With: Kristen Stewart, Katy O’Brian, Ed Harris, Dave Franco.
Sunday 4 August at 5 PM at De Cinema, Maarschalk Gérardstraat 4. Tickets.
Expo and performance: ‘Rizq Naherta – Project ITC: In the Margins to Recirculate Queerness’
“Rizq Naherta reclaims the Southeast Asian bootleg shop and transforms it on Sint-Paulusplaats into a platform for the redistribution of queer knowledge production. Their installation functions as a store that redistributes (mainly Southeast Asian) queer bootleg films as well as a physical archive. You can exchange a film for physical cash or for a queer story related to the selected film, or you can simply browse this unique collection or have conversations about film. This creates a place that we as a queer festival value highly: a place where people can meet and that invites connection.”
