Non-essential trips in and out of Belgium banned until 1 March

The Consultative Committee of Federal and Regional Governments has announced a ban of non-essential travel in and out of Belgium from 27 January until 1 March. This new coronavirus countermeasures aims to avoid a new peak in infections and minimise the import of the dreaded so-called British variant.

The National Security Council of the Kingdom of Belgium is set to meet next week to discuss the measures to counter coronavirus COVID-19. The current situation is believed to be prolonged.
