Before we boarded the Serenade of the Seas for weeklong cruise to Helsinki in Finland, Saint Petersburg in Russia, Tallinn in Estonia and Riga in Latvia; Steve and I spent a day and a half in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Where did we go?
1: H&M at Hangatan
We were barely ‘ten minutes’ in Stockholm and I was attracted to an H&M. According to the Insight Guide, H&M at Hamngatan 22 is the one where new products are launched. I don’t know if that’s true. But I bought a suit there which was on sale. 45 euros for a pink suit! Perfect for pink occasions.
Sorry not sorry.
2: ABBA The Museum
Does this one needs an introduction? No, because we a blogpost about ABBA The Museum. Just go.
3: Skansen
Skansen (“Skonse“) is an open-air museum on the island of Djurgården opened in 1891. It’s Sweden a nutshell, it’s fun, it’s quaint, it’s historical.
4: Restaurang Prinsen
From the three traditional Swedish restaurants we tried, Restaurang Prinsen at Mäster Samuelsgatan 4 was the nicest with the nicest food. We had fish. Whe had the world famous köttbullar (“shutbullar“) at Kvarnen on Tjärhovsgatan 4 and at Fem Små Hus on Nygränd 10. We preferred the meatballs at Fem Små Hus.
5: TAK
Restaurant and rooftop bar TAK on Brunkebergstorg 2-4 is quite impressive. It’s like a beach lounge / bar on a roof. Pretty view, hip design. Unfortunately you have to cope with the m’as-tu vu (have you seen me) attitude. Still, have a drink or two there.
